Challenge:

In common with other Property Development companies, each property existed as a legal entity (Company) and had to be accounted for separately.

Solution:

All Companies in the group were included within a single 'Business Unit' allowing a single purchase ledger to be established and minimising the volume of Intercompany entries. This was achieved by using the analysis capabilities of SunSystems and activating the feature which enforces balancing by analysis to maintain correct accounting treatment of each company.

Challenge:

Control and visibility of 'Work in Progress' for developments was essential to enable accurate values to be reported.

Solution:

SunSystems extensive analysis capabilities was used to monitor Work in Progress by property, by development project and by expense type (architect fees, surveying, building etc.). This enabled accurate values to be capitalised once the properties were completed and allows accurate reporting to investors and joint venture partners. In addition, the ePurchasing module is able to record invoice authorisations and apply budgetary control to the buying process.

Solution:

SunSystems' dynamic Chart of Accounts and analysis abilities enabled the timely rollout of existing coding structures while including the flexibility to accommodate new requirements particular to the merged organisations.

Challenge:

Business requirement to enable Operational Managers to drilldown and investigate management reports without recourse to Finance department.

Solution:

SunSystems' reporting module, QA10, was distributed to the Operational Managers who very quickly were able to slice & dice and drilldown on management reports and obtain a greater understanding of their areas of the business. Finance were able to focus more on providing a better service and meeting external regulatory obligations. This was possible due to the intuitive nature of the Q&A reporting tools and the 'realtime' links to SunSystems core data.

Solution:

Web-based Sales Invoicing System was used to provide seamless integration to update Sales and General Ledgers from entries generated. General Ledger, customer and analysis codes were quickly mapped which enabled web sales to generate accounting entries while enforcing appropriate accounting rules.

'Self-Billing' Purchase invoicing required to produce Purchase Invoices and integrate with Purchase and General Ledgers.

Solution:

SunSystems' Connect module was used to provide seamless integration to update Sales and General Ledgers from entries generated within the web sales system. General Ledger, customer and analysis codes were quickly mapped which enabled web sales to generate accounting entries while enforcing appropriate accounting rules but without the requirement for imports to be processed and managed by an operator. In addition, the document designer allowed Purchase Invoice documents to be produced which included all the particular field requirements from the web entries which had been integrated into SunSystems.
